Job Description
Position Title: Facilities Housekeeper
Department: Administrative
Part-Time Position: 24 hours per week
Butte Humane Society is looking for a thorough Facilities Housekeeper with excellent cleanliness standards to attend all areas of our facility. The goal is to enhance customer experience and sanitation standards by keeping our facilities in clean and orderly condition.
Duties (Essential Functions):
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and restroom fixtures; replenish disposable items including toilet tissue, paper towels and soap
- Complete general cleaning duties such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, floor polishing and sanitizing assigned areas
- Empty waste baskets and garbage cans in assigned areas (interior and exterior); remove trash in accordance with established procedures
- Laundry – Keep laundry machines running during shifts. Fold laundry and put away following protocol
- Dishes – Wash all dirty litter pans and bowls and buckets. Sanitize dishes in the dishwasher. Clean and sanitize food prep areas
- Tidying Break Room
- Ensuring hallways throughout the shelter remain clear; Spot clean walls, baseboards and window sills as needed
- Cleaning windows and sills throughout facility (interior and exterior) on a regular basis
- Ensure cleaning materials and supplies are stored in a safe and orderly manner
- Light maintenance of outdoor walkways/sidewalks (sweeping and blowing)
- Adhere to OSHA standards in relation to the proper use of chemicals and the equipment involved in the day-to-day completion of janitorial cleaning tasks
- Keep a current inventory of janitorial equipment and supplies at the job site when applicable
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED
- 2 years or more experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or related work
- Knowledge of proper cleaning methods required
- Ability to use basic maintenance equipment
- Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
- Punctual and dependable with a professional, neat appearance
- Great interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Physical Demands/Working Environment:
- Includes working in an outdoor environment with exposure to environmental conditions that include working near animals
- Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 lbs
- Must be able to work at a fast pace.
- Ability to safely handle and control tools, power tools, various motorized equipment.
- Professional in appearance and behavior.
