GENERAL SUMMARY:  
The Facilities and eSports Assistant ischarged with assisting in the supervision of evening Covelle Hall studentworkers, and eSports Arena student workers, and/or the physical performance ofsaid duties in the absence of evening workers.
PRINCIPALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Assist in monitoring work duties of student workers.
  • Enforce policies and procedures governing the use of the eSports Arena and Covelle Hall Wellness Center.
  • Educate patrons on policies/procedures, as well as instruct in the proper use of gaming and wellness equipment.
  • Assist in providing information to patrons on gaming platforms, software, and use of gaming equipment within the eSports Arena.
  • Assist in providing health/wellness literature to wellness center participants.
  • Oversee the use and role management of the gaming software used in the eSports Arena.
  • Assist with both facilities closure based on hours of operation.
  • Manage Student Life facilities and/or events when the Sports & Wellness Coordinator and/or Activities Coordinator are absent from the facility.
  • In conjunction with Student Life staff, assist with researching, coordinating and conducting events in collaboration with or in the absence of Sports & Wellness Coordinator and Activities Coordinator.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
  • Two years’ responsible health/wellness and/or gaming-related work experience.
  • Knowledge of the realm of eSports, including knowledge on multiple platforms, eSports event functions, and gaming culture.
  • Must be able to interact comfortably and effectively with a diverse client population.
  • Must be able to effectively contribute in a dynamic, team environment.
  • A positive “can-do” attitude along with a professional appearance and demeanor should be modeled at all times.    
  • Should be able to quickly grasp and apply training in learning new skills and methods.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, recommend and implement solutions in a timely fashion.
  • Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheets, project management, electronic communications, Discord and other gaming platforms, and an understanding of web technologies.
  • Proven organizational skills, be neat in appearance, the ability to communicate with distinction both orally and in writing.
  • Must be flexible, innovative and self-motivated. 
  • Strong written and oral communications skills required.
  • Excellent listening, customer service and problem solving skills are essential, continually incorporating feedback, ideas and requests. 
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license will be required if performing the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.
  • CPR
  • Ability to work late evenings. A late evening work schedule is required to accommodate the hours of operation for this role.
  • Normal office physical environment; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work hours between 5pm-11pm Monday-Friday (30 hours per week).
