The Facilities Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining and optimizing the infrastructure and equipment in buildings and other facilities.
2. ROLE PURPOSE:
The role of the Facilities Engineer is a generalist position requiring knowledge across multiple fields (e.g. the Building Maintenance Systems (BMSs), mechanical, HVAC/Refrigeration, electronic, instrumentation, and electrical fields).
The position also requires the ability to provide hands-on assistance to HVAC, mechanical and electrical installers/service technicians.

4. Job Tasks
The Facilities Engineer's Job Tasks include but are not limited to:
1. Understanding the client's requirements and specifications.
2. Reading and analyzing the blueprints, drawings, as well as rough sketches.
3. Determining project timelines and time constraints.
4. Improving the facilities operations by reviewing facilities infrastructure.
5. Giving necessary updates to the clients as and when required.
6. Reviewing and maintaining logbooks for completion of a particular task.
7. Educating the team member on disposing of the waste materials using OSHA procedures.
8. Complying with the building codes and environmental standards.
9. Preparing detailed facilities reports and compliance documentation.
10. Staying abreast of the latest updates in the facilities industry.
11. Conducting research on systems and equipment and presenting this information to key stakeholders and decision-makers.
12. Assessing existing equipment and specifications.
13. Analyzing data and preparing blueprints/reports.
14. Designing layouts for new facilities and buildings.
15. Optimizing and managing resource allocation across a facility.
16. Coordinating contractors for installation and maintenance projects.
17. Checking work completed by contractors for compliance and safety.
18. Designing and implementing safety standards for operations.
19. Evaluating the efficiency of systems and equipment within a facility.
20. Preparing reports and documentation.
21. Creating maintenance plans and schedules.
22. Ensuring all relevant building regulations are observed.
5. Key Performance Indicators (kpis):
KPIs shall be according to the Client's policy and procedures and other company requirements. It shall cover but not limited to the following areas: engineering, process, operations, scope, troubleshooting, repair, schedule, quality, cost, etc.
6. work experience:
- Specific experience in ASHRAE level energy audits and developing energy savings calculations from retrofits and energy measures from retro-commissioning a plus.
- Must have extensive knowledge and experience of Aerospace MRO equipment.
- Professional certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) will be an added advantage.
- Working experience in the Engineering department as a Facilities Engineer, or a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of architectural designs and building structures.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge about building codes.
- Excellent knowledge of project management principles.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Exceptional ability to work for long periods.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of construction principles and building processes.
- Understanding of building regulations and health and safety.
7. Educational qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in an Industrial or Mechanical engineering discipline or a related degree from a recognized university or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years' experience in the manufacturing for the aviation industry
- Certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is a differentiator.
- Certificate of Computer Aided Design (CAD), spreadsheets and data processing software preferred (e.g. AutoCAD, 3D Modeling, MS Excel, MS Word, etc.).
8. Knowledge and skills:
- Full knowledge of facility equipment operation and commissioning engineering and application requirements.
- Good knowledge of military and industrial standards.
- Good knowledge of software program control and planning/manufacturing tooling is required.
- Knowledge of Mission, armament and support systems requirements will be an asset.
- Good knowledge on airworthiness, weight, certification, reliability and maintainability aspects is desired.

- Ability to understand, track, drill-down the issues in all functional areas and make sound technical and operational decisions
9. position compentency required:
- Full competency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

- Full competency in Computer Aided Design software (CAD).
