Job Description
We are working with a leading global law firm based in New York that specializes in advising clients on significant transactions and disputes. They are actively looking to hire a Facilities Services Clerk to join their team and report to the NY Director of Administration. The primary role of the Facilities Services Clerk is to maintain responsibility for the NY Office and premises maintenance, cleaning, office moves and related facilities services. Additionally, this role will assist with set ups for meetings and special events. This is a contract-to-hire role, and they are looking to hire as soon as possible.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure office premises is kept in pristine condition.
- Perform daily inspection tours of entire premises and equipment.
- Keep and maintain accurate log of inspections noting service issues, time of calls to service providers to remedy service failures/issues and final resolution .
- Monitor lighting systems, equipment to ensure they are operational, and facilities premises on a daily basis.
- Respond to emergency situations and report issues to Facilities Coordinator while also assisting with the appropriate remedy of the situations.
- Help implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs for office premises.
- Understand and ensure compliance to all NYC regulatory codes.
- Act as a liaison with 200 Park Building Management company ensuring that all premise inspections, repairs and cleaning services are carried out as outlined under building regulations.
- Ensure all conference rooms are kept clean, chairs straightened, kept operational and set up of tables and chairs in multi-purpose room as required for meeting requests.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of previous experience working at a law firm or professional services industry.
- Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the Firm and with various business contacts outside of the Company in an articulate, professional manner.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to deal with emergencies, special events, evenings and weekends.
- An ability to use a computer with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet applications.
- Some working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and other building systems consistent with a commercial office building.
- Ability to comfortably operate in a fast-paced environment while working with many of our service departments.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, and walk or stand for extended periods of time.
- High School diploma or GED required.
