Job Description
A prominent custom metal fabrication company that is located west of Milwaukee is looking for a Manufacturing Metal Fabrication Engineer to help develop engineering masters for the production of new products and nesting laser components using Radan software. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal fabrication engineering in a job shop environment, with working knowledge of fabrication methods to include welding, press brake forming, laser cutting, machining and assembly.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the production of new or improved products, components, processes, and systems
- Develop manufacturing processes that are efficient, cost-effective, and safe, while meeting quality standards
- Identify and solve problems in existing products, processes, and systems
- Specify raw materials, production equipment, and process requirements
- Prepare cost estimates for new products.
- Investigate customer complaints and take corrective action
- Train workers in new or revised methods and procedures
- Review proposals for new products, services, or processes
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in a fabrication engineering role
- Experience with CAD software programs, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks or similar
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including laser, welding, forming, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Excellent project management skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity with the MRP systems Visual Manufacturing or similar.
