The Fabrication and Machine Shop Supervisor will work under the general direction of the Director of Plant Operations and will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and supervising employees and activities within the Fabrication and Machine Shop department. The primary focus is to ensure effective and efficient operations that meet safety, quality, and production standards.

Responsibilities
Assign work to department personnel to achieve department objectives, considering fabrication processes, company policies, work orders, equipment capacity, and employee capabilities.
Respond promptly and effectively to work requests from the plant, coordinating activities accordingly.
Recommend and initiate improvements to Fabrication and machining processes to enhance efficiency.
Monitor and control established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Monitor cost control systems to achieve department budget objectives.
Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping requirements.
Provide training, support, direction, and guidance to department personnel to develop their work habits, job skills, and safety practices.
Evaluate employee performance and accountability, providing objective feedback for continued growth.
Assist in setting department goals and developing outlines for achievement.
Assist in timekeeping of team members assigned to the Fabrication and Machine Shop.
May be exposed to excessive noise, welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions.
Demonstrate a dedication to safety by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering and working in the plant.
Keep work area clean, safe, and orderly.
Complete other duties as assigned by Director of Plant Operations.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in design, fabrication, and machining in a manufacturing environment.
Computer literate with experience using e-mail, Auto Cad 2015 or equivalent, and word processing applications (Microsoft Office).
Ability to learn and understand software and complete transactions pertaining to fabrication or welding operations.
Demonstrated ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective coaching, training, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and effective time management.
Understanding and application of workplace safety procedures.
Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Proficient in different welding techniques, manual presses, CNC plasma burners, shears, rolls, and similar equipment.
Ability to manipulate tools and assembly components involving fine and gross motor skills sufficient to demonstrate welding job tasks.
