Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Fabric Cutter. As a Fabric Cutter, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently cutting fabric according to specifications provided for various projects. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and proficiency in using cutting tools and equipment.
Responsibilities:
1. Fabric Cutting: Use cutting tools such as scissors, rotary cutters, or electric knives to cut fabric accurately according to provided patterns, templates, or measurements.
2. Measurement and Calculation: Measure and calculate fabric dimensions to ensure accurate cutting based on project requirements.
3. Pattern Interpretation: Interpret and understand patterns or templates to ensure correct cutting and minimize material wastage.
4. Material Handling: Handle fabric materials with care to prevent damage or distortion during the cutting process.
5. Quality Control: Inspect cut fabric pieces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, such as designers, seamstresses, or production staff, to coordinate cutting activities and meet project deadlines.
7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications:
1. Experience: At least 1 year of experience in fabric cutting or a related role.
2. Knowledge: Understanding of fabric types, grain lines, and cutting techniques.
3. Skills:
- Proficiency in using cutting tools and equipment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and cutting.
- Ability to interpret patterns and templates.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
4. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move fabric rolls or materials as needed.
5. Safety Consciousness: Commitment to following safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries in the workplace.
