Job Summary:
Product Safety, Certification & Validation (PSCV) is looking for a motivated individual to manage the Validation Planning efforts on the F135 Engine Core Upgrade Program. In this role you will work closely with the Validation Management Team to define the validation strategy for all development ground and flight activities. The candidate must possess a strong and diverse background in gas turbine engine validation and must be willing to adapt to changing business requirements.
The position can be located in West Palm Beach, FL or East Hartford, CT.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the engineering organization as an On-Site representative for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) validation team.
  • Ability to interact productively with other team members across various disciplines, including systems, components and operations engineering as well as the program management team.
  • Work with the requirement owners to generate an integrated validation plan for the program based on statistical predictions and past program execution.
  • Review user requirements and be willing to negotiate instrumentation counts and test execution sequencing to balance the test entries and mitigate risk within the validation plan.
  • Participate in customer and/or program technical review presentations and provide task progress status updates.
  • Predict and track program metrics and milestones including fuel usage, engine hours, engine cycles, key learning points and high-level failures discovered at test.
  • Act as a change agent and embrace probabilistic tools to improve the validation process.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 8+ years of experience in Engineering or 5+ years with an Advance Degree
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Validation Planning deliverables including Engine Development Plans (EDP's), Test Job Requests (TJR's) and/or Pilot Lots
  • Experience with jet engine hardware, assembly, and/or testing.
  • Familiar working in an Agile framework.
