Job Description
Summary
This position will report to the Production Manager. Performs machine set-up for orders, safely operates machine to production target, waste, and quality standards, and trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard.
On-site, 2nd and 3rd shift available
Responsibilities
- Read orders, select proper resins and additives.
- Operate extruders and resin-handling equipment.
- Operate extruders at maximum output with minimum scrap generated.
- Make necessary quality checks utilizing micrometer, and dyne test solutions.
- Keep all necessary records including production, quality control, time utilization and material usage.
- Clean dyes, changes dyes and screen packs.
- Responsible for routine operating maintenance.
- Responsible for labeling material and moving rolls and carts to staging area.
- Abide by all rules and procedures that govern the extrusion department.
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
Experience
- High School Diploma with 2+ years in general warehouse operations.
- Ability to read and understand simple written materials. Ability to write simple statements and numbers. Ability to perform arithmetic calculations with fractions and decimals.
- Previous blown film extrusion experience preferred as well as minor mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Average dexterity and coordination. Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50lbs.
- Frequent mental/visual attention to monitor extruder operation.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must adhere to plant safety and housekeeping standards.
