Job Summary
he Ex ension Educa or II will plan, conduc and evalua e educa ional workshops and raining sessions wi h Supplemen al Nu ri ion Assis ance Program (SNAP) eligible you h and adul s for SNAP-ED in he Springfield region, as de ailed in he Annual SNAP-ED Program Plan. his posi ion is based ou of he Springfield, MA Ex ension Office.
Essen ial Func ions

• Assis wi h he developmen and implemen a ion of he SNAP-ED program in he Springfield region. Organize and each educa ional workshops and raining sessions for SNAP eligible you h and adul s using research-based informa ion.
• Assis projec leader wi h projec managemen , including budge ing, as assigned. Prepare required plans and repor s.
• Par icipa e in needs assessmen , formula ion of program objec ives and design of delivery me hods.
• Assis wi h applied scholarly or crea ive ac ivi y, or research as applicable.
• Par icipa e in overall program managemen , in de ermining s affing needs for program s aff and/or volun eers and in recrui ing and raining s aff and/or volun eers.
• Seek con inued funding suppor for he program hrough collabora ion wi h communi y organiza ions. Work wi h he collabora ing organiza ions in he delivery of programs a he assigned program si es.
• Represen UMass Ex ension a he local level in ma ers of Ex ension policy and procedure, and wi h communi y groups in areas of nu ri ion, heal h promo ion and disease preven ion. Par icipa e in he developmen of promo ional ma erials.
• Par icipa e in SNAP-ED eams and s aff mee ings. Par icipa e in he developmen of local SNAP-ED plan.
• Main ain and increase personal and professional compe ence hrough par icipa ion in in-service raining, professional associa ion ac ivi ies, and con inuing educa ion. Wi h he assis ance of he projec leader, prepare and implemen professional developmen plan.
• Conduc periodic evalua ions of program effec iveness. Prepare and submi repor s as required.
• Work ac ively o ensure ha all programs are conduc ed in compliance wi h federal, s a e and Universi y Affirma ive Ac ion policies.

• Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of rela ed professional experience.

Work Schedule
