Department Overview

The Enterprise Service Delivery (ESD) Business Operations team delivers a broad range of expertise and services to drive integrated, cross-organizational solutions. By providing strategic counsel and program governance, the team helps the organization balance operational strategy, risk, compliance, and continuous improvement. Position Summary

The Expert Business Performance Analyst’s primary functions will be to drive the development / refinement of metrics, implementation of LEAN, and facilitate cross-functional problem solving. They will implement and maintain custom data and analytic reporting to provide insight into and facilitate day to day operations and continuous improvement efforts for the Enterprise Service Delivery Team. They will lead clients from simple, pre-existing business intelligence solutions to forward-looking "what's next" capabilities using more advanced predictive and prescriptive tools. The successful candidate will work in a variety of systems across functional teams and partner with peers and leaders on process change implementation (using the LEAN methodology and framework) and ongoing measurement and reporting.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $122,000

Bay Area Maximum: $194,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues
  • Provides consultation on the use of lean techniques to improve process performance
  • Coaches and mentors staff and leadership in elements of lean, including waste elimination, problem solving, and visual management
  • Develops and tracks metrics that provide data for process measurement, business operations or risk assessment and may present findings to leadership.
  • Leads implementation of process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Facilitates monthly and weekly metrics reporting related to performance and project status
  • Collects data to identify root cause of problems on performances and implements solutions for improvements
  • Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls. Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques, processes and implementation
  • Determines data needs, collects data, selects from different analytical techniques to conduct root cause analysis, determine issues designs and maintains operational tools and reports
  • Projects are moderately to highly complex and require selecting methods, approaches and tactics to resolve problems and obtain solutions
  • Creates analysis that accurately describes the state of the business
  • Applies judgment to solve problems of diverse scope
  • Monitors and ensures accurate data feeds from multiple sources

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of relevant business, operational, financial, or process improvement experience

Desired:

  • Expert Excel skills (Power Pivots & Tables, V Look up, etc)
  • Expert in Microsoft BI stack including PowerView and PowerPivot; PowerBI, DAX
  • Expert in MS Excel/Access/PowerPoint
  • Experience with metrics/dashboard creation, reporting, and presenting data
  • Experience working with data stored across multiple databases/data sources
  • MBA or other advanced degrees.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above
  • Advanced statistical, modeling, and process improvement knowledge
  • Advanced reporting knowledge and experience with multiple reporting tools
  • Demonstrated experience in data visualization best practices using Power BI
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Ability to keep pace and contribute to a high performing team
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and data analysis skills
  • Familiarity with utility operations
  • Self-Starter with positive energy
