Provides exercise design, development and oversight of training scenarios. The expert Advisor provides the highest authoritative expertise in military warfighting. They are highly knowledgeable with years of experience held at the senior military and industry levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze, develop, validate, and document exercise design products for the training audience to meet current training objectives for service specific, joint, and combined exercises across the Range of Military Operations (ROMO).
- Conduct AARs/OIL for command element, GCE, regiment, and Battalion HQ, EXCON/HICON, Response Cells, Opposing Force/Adversary Force (OPFOR/ADFOR).
- Generate realistic, challenging, and adaptive adversaries (threat emulation) as defined by current Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff instruction.
- Provide experience in applying research and foundational knowledge to real world organizational, leadership and education issues, culture, strategic communications, design theory, and research ISO JNTC’s prepotency role within the learning enterprise.
- Includes Information Warfare (14 Information Related Capabilities (IRCs) e.g., Information Operations (IO); Civil Affairs (CA); Combat Camera (COMCAM); Military Information Support Operations (MISO); etc.). within exercise design.
- Design, Develop, and Adapt sound tactical adversary plans for each specified exercise.
- Includes Intelligence within Exercise Design for virtual and constructive exercises.
- Includes Joint Fires Integration within Exercise Design for virtual and constructive exercises.
- Includes Joint Naval Amphibious operations within exercise design.
- Includes Science and Engineering operations within exercise design.
- Includes Geographically correct and reality‐based threat Electromagnetic (EM) and threads and injects to create catalysts that will exercise a unit’s information operations actions.
- Facilitate adversary debriefs and after-action reviews immediately following exercises JNTC lead or participated in.
- Submit key insights, lessons learned, and best practices to the Trends Reversal, Reinforcement Program via established formats and procedures following each exercise.
- Research up to current TS/SCI level information on identified threat orders of battle, up to the combined arms army level, and their associated tactics, capabilities, vulnerabilities, and intentions across the range of military operations.
- Conduct exercises across Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) training environment.
- Provide support for formal learning programs and Joint Staff Training.
EDUCATION
Doctorate or master’s degree and graduate from a military Service or Joint War College with a minimum of 20 years’ experience
EXPERIENCE
- Prior GCE O-6 level command. Current on Joint Military concepts, and adult learning methodology. Commander’s view as foundation to a command philosophy.
- Knowledgeable in doctrinal approaches to command.
- Commanders are skilled in developing a command philosophy that reflects their approach to command and is actionable.
- Knowledgeable in building unit cohesion, will & resiliency.
- Knowledgeable in doctrinal approaches to training.
- Practiced in developing training guidance.
- Knowledgeable in doctrinal approaches to tactical decision making & planning.
- Practiced in modeling a thinking enemy and defeat mechanisms.
- Practiced in crafting commander's guidance & intent.
- Practiced in commander KSAs for planning and execution.
- Knowledgeable in multi-domain environment warfighting challenges.
- Knowledgeable in emerging challenges (EMS, CUAS, SIGMAN, OIE).
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command philosophy and relationships at the Joint operational command level.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and/or SharePoint.
- Provides exercise design expertise to all areas of the JNTC program.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
- Occasional travel CONUS/OCONUS may be required.
- Passport Required.
- Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
