External Description
The Experienced Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on our fleet of on-snow and wheeled vehicles. This individual has an attention to detail and completes maintenance and repairs in a safe, timely manner.
As a critical member of the Mountain Operations team, this individual has a desire to achieve and set high standards for performance and growth. Our fleet is an essential part of our business and when an issue occurs...every moment it's out of service can impact our operations. The seasoned mechanic is responsible for keeping that time to a minimum with quality workmanship. With that said, no task is too small as working on Donner Summit means we all pick up a shovel, bump chairs, and pitch in all aspects of resort operations no matter our title or pay grade.
If you have previous mechanical experience, are familiar with both on-snow and wheeled equipment, and take initiative to get things done, we want to hear from you!

Requirements
While every day is different and our roles may shift based on business needs, here is what you can expect to dive into in this role as Experienced Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic:
- Maintains and repairs all resort equipment, including grooming and snow removal equipment, snowmobiles, and street vehicles.
- Proactively anticipates potential challenges and completes preventative maintenance for our fleet.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with other departments to assess and prioritize needs.
- Ensures repairs and maintenance are conducted in accordance with all regulatory and safety requirements.
- Documents all repairs and maintenance performed.
- Maintains a clean workspace, including inside the shop and outdoor snow removal.
- Attends and contributes to operations meetings to gather information on upcoming events, changes, and share pertinent items with the team.
- Works in all weather conditions and potential for lots of overtime to resolve operation critical issues.
What We're Looking For:
- 4+ years experience maintaining and repairing heavy machinery
- Previous experience or familiarity with maintenance and operation of on snow and on-road vehicles
- Able to perform the functions of the job in all weather for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift 100 pounds.
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
