Experienced Tax Accountant

Harding, Shymanski & Co., PSC ( www.hsccpa.com ), a public accounting and consulting firm, has a full-time opening for an accountant in our Evansville or Louisville offices with a minimum of 5 years of tax experience, preferably in a public accounting environment. Included with this position are an excellent benefit package, salary commensurate with experience, and stimulating assignments.

Responsibilities include:

• Tax preparation for corporate, partnership and individual clients,
• Assisting management with gathering financial data needed for ongoing tax planning purposes for clients in a variety of industries
• Preparation and calculation of tax provisions for corporations
• Providing client support and assistance regarding tax and accounting related items on an as needed basis
• Assistance with tax controversies

Skills/Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or taxation
• CPA certification a plus
• A minimum of 5 years of tax experience, preferably in a public accounting environment
• Knowledge of federal taxation
• Excellent communication skills,
• Effective project management ability
• Self motivated and ability to work independently
• Experience in Prosystem software a plus
• Flexibility and willingness to work additional hours when required
• Capable and motivated to provide our clients with excellent and timely client service
