Experienced Residential Millwork Drafter

Drafter/Designer

We are a manufacturing company located in Elk Grove, CA seeking a motivated, results-oriented, full-time experienced SolidWorks / AutoCAD technician who will provide drafting & design services in the millwork and retail display industry. We are looking for a Drafter to work with our team of Project Managers and Builders and convert designs into technical plans.
Drafter responsibilities include gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements and setting up production methods. If you have hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and are familiar with building processes, we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, you’ll help us build functional, secure and well-designed products and structures that meet our customer’s needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and prepare complete and accurate working plans, detailed drawings, layouts for various projects
• Interface w/ Project Managers, Estimators, and other departmental personnel to obtain details of display and material requirements.
• Revise plans and drawings to comply with customer request
• Categorize and file drawings in customer files
• All other job-related instructions and duties as requested by your superiors
REQUIRED:
• Experienced in millwork and retail displays
• Demonstrated proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Familiarity with 3D modeling tools
• Good math skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Strong work ethic and a positive, collaborative attitude
• Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
PREFERRED:
• ASC in Engineering, Architecture or degree from a technical college
• Experience with Microvellum Toolbox
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Woodworking / Cabinet building background.
• CNC programming experience.
