Experienced Groomer

VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital is looking to hire an experienced Pet Stylist / Groomer. Schedules are flexible and can be full or part time. We are looking for a fun, energetic stylist who loves what they do!
Responsibilities:
- Provide bathing and grooming services
- Bathe, brush, and trim pets' fur according to client preferences and breed standards
- Perform nail trims, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing as needed
- Assess pets' skin and coat condition and recommend appropriate grooming treatments
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming process
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting, such as a veterinary clinic, pet care facility, or grooming salon
- Knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming requirements
- Strong customer service skills to interact with pet owners and understand their preferences
- Ability to handle animals of all sizes and temperaments with care and patience
- Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing
- Certification or training in pet grooming is preferred but not required
Skills:
- Pet care: Experience in providing basic care for pets, including feeding, bathing, and exercising
- Customer service: Ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and provide excellent customer service
- Kennel: Familiarity with kennel operations, including cleaning and maintaining kennel areas
- Heavy lifting: Ability to lift heavy animals or equipment when necessary
- Dog training: Basic understanding of dog behavior and training techniques
- Pet grooming: Proficiency in various grooming techniques for different types of pets
- Animal handling: Ability to safely handle animals during grooming procedures
Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week
