Essential Job Functions:
- Understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures
- Observe and report all suspicious activity
- Follow the Emergency Action and Communication Plans and all Standard Operating Procedures for emergencies
- Maintain compliance with Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism and Foreign Trade Zone (where applicable)
- Completes incident reports as required
- Responds to all fire/medical/security/hazmat/threat situations according to Emergency Response Plan and Standardized Operating Procedures and Medical Director Protocols
- Performs routine daily/weekly/monthly inspections on fire alarm/fire suppression/and security equipment
- Physically inspect all fire suppression systems, including but not limited to:
- Sprinkler System
- Manual and Automatic Alarm initiating devices
- Fire Panels
- Standpipe Hoses
- Performs daily inspections on apparatus, security vehicles, and emergency response equipment
- Patrol facilities for fire or building code violations and additional safety hazards; report to supervisor
- Act as a weather spotter and monitor weather alerts through Sky Guard or other notification systems
- Approve and inspect: all hot works and high-hazard hot works, confined space permits
- Participates in daily training on emergency response to maintain readiness
- Maintains compliance with personal Fire/Medical/Hazmat certifications as required by local mandate
- Demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications and performing in a high-pressure environment
- Other duties to be determined by supervisor
- Minimum of 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED
- Certified Basic Structure Fire Protection by the Texas Commission of Fire Protection
- Current EMT-Basic certification through the Texas Department of State Health Service
- Current driver’s license
- Pass an NFPA 1582 physical examination and drug test
