About The Role & Team
The Exercise Coordinatormust demonstrate competency in the field of exercise physiology, health promotion or related field. The Exercise Coordinator must be able to instruct and monitor members on the proper guidelines for cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility principles, based on the American College of Sports Medicine Guidelines. This person needs to possess the qualities that promote, manage and follow through with special health and wellness events. Our mission is to change lifestyle behaviors to move toward a state of improved health for our Cast Members. This self-motivated individual will be instrumental in creating policies, programs, and strategic planning projects that promote a positive culture of health and wellness within the company. This position will oversee the exercise specialist’s and ensure they are following their daily job role.
What You Will Do
Support Overall Wellness Initiatives
Conduct or support health lectures, health fairs and expos
Assist with special activities or events as needed
Assist with sports league or instructional programing events
Development of education material
Provide direction and support to the college program team members
Membership Services
Provide tours to potential members, describe membership services
Input membership data into the Health Management System
Responsible for individual exercise instruction on exercise equipment
Communicate member/client concerns, facility issues, or program issues with management
Responsible for maintenance and operational tasks include cleaning equipment, restock towel supply and adjust equipment
Opening and closing responsibilities
Managing memberships and facility access
Administrative Support
Knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point computer programs
Proven self-starter and ability to balance multiple priorities with minimal direction
Proficiency and understanding of the Health Management System (HMS-member management software)
Required Qualifications & Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to be adaptable and flexible
May have to work early mornings, late nights and some weekends
Preferred Qualifications
CPR and AED
Personal trainer certification
Group exercise certification
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or closely related field
