About the Role & Team

Through innovative storytelling and a culture of collaboration, Disney Live Entertainment creates, produces, and delivers remarkable and engaging entertainment experiences. From the intimate to the spectacular, our work can be seen at Disney theme parks, resort hotels, cruise ships, and other locations the world over! This diverse team – representing a wide variety of disciplines and talents from technical directors, writers, and lighting designers to choreographers, cosmetologists, and music producers – brings magical worlds to life through technical expertise, performance excellence, outstanding resourcefulness, unparalleled spectacle… and a dash of pixie dust.

The CAD Designer with Disney Live Entertainment (DLE) synthesizes technical design intent for events, theatrical shows, and parades that delight guests at Disney Parks and Resorts around the world. Whether developing new shows or sustaining our existing offerings, DLE CAD Designers create the drawing packages, models, and visualization resources that bring our shows to life.

In this role, you will translate ideas and sketches through 3D CAD/BIM Software into documentation and models used by our partners to produce a variety of themed entertainment offerings. This job is highly collaborative, with CAD Designers consistently acting as information conduits to the larger design team. Your design work may support scopes as small as one-day events and as large as decade-spanning venues. To ensure the success of DLE offerings you will be participating and sometimes leading design reviews, document markups, and model coordination efforts on projects assigned

  • Stay current with industry computer graphics visualization software and technology
  • Maintain show documentation, model archives, and other shared resources for reuse by the larger team
  • Participate in the delivery of design intent documents that result in a realized design for our guests
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for other disciplines with regard to standards, and coordinated model reviews
