Job description

Job Title: Executive Manager of Human Resources

R.H. Foster Energy, LLC is a small family company that prides itself in being part of the communities they serve. Robert H. Foster started Foster Fuels as a Gulf Oil Dealership with one 1500-gallon oil delivery truck. Sales volume for the first year was 200,000 gallons of home heating oil. Today the company has over 500 employees and does business throughout Maine. R.H. Foster Energy, L.L.C. has seven energy service locations throughout Central Maine. In addition, the company owns 23 Shell brand fuels with stores offering Freshies food.

As an Executive Manager of Human Resources, you will be part of a team focusing on Human Resource strategies and providing leadership and direction to plan, manage, and oversee the operations of the Human Resources Division. You will be working with a team, while being deeply involved with recruitment and selection, employer-employee relations, classification and pay, performance evaluation, benefits, along with providing highly responsible and complex professional support to the Vice President.

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as a business advisor and coach to the executive team and leaders across the organization and provide strong domain expertise and counsel on critical people, talent, workforce, and culture strategies.
  • Collaborating with management team to craft the company’s vision and mission.
  • Develops and executes Human Resources strategy in support of overall strategy plan in support of the Company’s overall strategic direction.
  • Responsible for all HR functions, including but not limited to talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefit management, and succession planning.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with company culture, values, and business objectives while effectively balancing risk mitigation and compliance with strong enablement strategies to support accelerated business growth.
  • Work with business leaders to evaluate candidates for all open positions, by developing and implementing strategies to creatively recruit, select and retain highly qualified employees.
  • Serve as a resource, mentor and trainer to employees and staff regarding supervisor functions, grievance resolution, employee discipline, harassment/discrimination.
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, Recruitment, Retention, Talent Management, and Employment Law.
  • Oversee payroll, ensure internal auditing procedures are in place to comply with state and federal rules/regulations.
  • Provides guidance and/or addresses grievances and process recommendations for probation, discipline and/or termination of employees.
  • Develop corporate plans and policies for a variety of Human Resource matters such as compensation, benefits, health, and safety etc.
  • Acting and supporting the human factor in the company by devising strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training, and development of employees.
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards.
  • Supervise the work of Human Resource personnel and provide guidance.
  • Research, analyze and prepare HR metric reports to ensure that the work and efforts of the Human Resource team align with the mission and strategic plan for R.H. Foster, including the tracking of relevant data and trends to create evidence-based improvement plans in Human Resources.
  • Responsible for assuring all employee paperwork is completed fully and accurately.
  • Ensures new employees are welcomed and acclimated to organizations and prepared/scheduled for all training. This may include, but not limited, developing, and facilitating new hire paperwork/orientations, safety training, new hire training, annual sexual harassment training, professional testing as deemed to position, or other similar trainings and programs.

Individual Qualifications:

The qualifications listed below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job. · Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred. Or related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.

· 5-10 years of Human Resource Management experience.

· Ability to work independently while leading a team of professionals.

· Thorough knowledge and experience with employment related laws and regulations.

· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Able to interpret and compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form with abstract or concrete variables and where limited standardization may exist.

· To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Contact Management systems, Database software, Human Resource systems, Payroll systems, and Project Management software.

· Current Class C Maine Driver’s License

· SHRM-CP preferred.
