Cabot Citrus Farms

Cabot’s first U.S. destination, Cabot Citrus Farms, is situated on 1,200 acres of rolling land and will include Cabot’s signature combination of world-class golf, luxury accommodations and real estate opportunities. Opening in 2023, Cabot Citrus Farms will feature two revitalized 18-hole courses, a par-3 course, a new clubhouse and extensive practice facilities. The property is a short 50-minute drive from Tampa and an 80-minute drive from Orlando. While close to urban amenities, the property sits in the central-west region of Florida aptly known as the Nature Coast. Visitors will delight in one-of-a-kind experiences including exceptional hiking, biking and nature trails at neighboring Withlacoochee State Forest, spring- fed rivers and bountiful lakes at Crystal River, and world-class fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Position Overview

As the Executive Housekeeper, you are a key member of the Cabot Citrus Farms team and will be instrumental in building on Cabot’s legacy of world-leading golf destinations. You will be tasked with overseeing the overall look and feel of the property, maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout. Your knowledge of high-end resort cleanliness and housekeeping – combined with your attentiveness, efficiency, and commitment – will ensure that Cabot Citrus Farms remains a safe, clean, presentable, and enjoyable workplace and travel destination for our team-members, partners, and guests. You will maintain a daily presence on-site and build strong relationships with team-members, community stakeholders, guests, and prospective real estate buyers. You embody Cabot’s values and positively represent the Cabot brand, helping to set team expectations for the resort’s high standard and act as an ambassador and role model of exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and maintains Housekeeping department and public area minimum standards. Responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of property housekeeping staff.
  • Prepares work schedule for staff and authorizes payroll for the department based on approved labor standards.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor staff activities to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards set by Cabot, which requires continuous visual inspection of guestrooms and public space areas including: restaurant, lounge, meeting rooms, lobby, halls, etc.
  • Complete the monthly quotas set of twice yearly guestroom deep cleans, as well as quarterly guestroom inspections.
  • Evaluate condition of furniture, fixtures, décor, etc. Make recommendations and assist in the coordination of rehab projects.
  • Manage finances of housekeeping and laundry operations including budget and inventory controls. Analyze data and compile reports on expenditures, wages, labor, supplies, etc. in relation to hotel financial forecasts and budget. Operate within the established labor standards.
  • Establish and maintain adequate supplies for efficient operation of department. Supervise the operation of linen, uniform, supply and storage rooms. Place linen, uniform, and supply orders as needed.
  • Install inventory controls for uniforms, linens and supplies to be monitored by issuance procedures and purchasing.
  • Performs cleaning duties from time to time, when required in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
  • Oversees administration of credit system, including employee scheduling to accommodate business demands of the hotel.
  • Creates and oversees training of all housekeepers and public area attendants.
  • Conducts daily audits of accommodations and public areas to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Manages necessary contracts, including third-party laundry & third-party labor.
  • Determines and reports need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment and makes recommendations senior leadership.
  • Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
  • Sees that all Housekeeping personnel are carrying out the duties assigned to them, as per standards of the company.
  • Models Cabot’s culture and exemplify our shared values on a day-to-day basis
  • Promotes teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments, particularly the Front Desk.
  • Leads and trains Room Attendants and other Team Members to ensure their performance is to the expected Cabot standard.
  • Plans and organizes all deep cleaning and cycle projects relating to guest accommodations.
  • Supervises compliance of company policies and exercises performance management as needed.
  • Ensures consistent adherence to Cabot standards through daily inspection of guest rooms, public areas, offices and various storage areas throughout the hotel.
  • Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies, amenities, uniforms and linen.
  • Supervises and controls Lost and Found, maintains records and liaises with Front Desk to return packages to guests.
  • Promotes teamwork within the department as well as a sense of fairness.
  • Ensures that all staff in the housekeeping department know and understand safety procedures and effective reporting is maintained.
  • Ensures all housekeeping staff is thoroughly familiar with the Hotel’s emergency procedures and is in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
  • Contribute to pre-opening responsibilities, including other duties as assigned.
  • Must be available to work a varied schedule as needed based on occupancy levels and department demands, including AM shifts, PM shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-years Housekeeping supervisor experience; preferably at a high-end resort. Manager experience a plus.
  • High school or equivalent education required – University degree or College diploma in Hospitality Management, an asset
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and motivate colleagues
  • Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Springer-Miller Host, Yellow Dog inventory system, etc.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast- paced work environment.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated, and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions (verbal and written).
  • Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Strong conflict resolution/management and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage labor effectively.
  • Effective training and facilitation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous always.
  • Florida Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
  • Work flexible hours – weekends, evenings and overtime as required
  • Excels in a team environment

Physical Demands

  • Working in an outdoor environment (i.e.: sun, wind, rain)
  • Ascending and descending stairs and ramps
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for long periods of time- up to 5 hours at a time.
  • Required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch, as well as stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, repetitive motions.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, tools, products, and supplies
