Description
We are searching for a skilled Internal Communications expert to partner with our GM Software team, one of the most forward-looking teams within GM. The successful candidate loves technology and understands the software engineering mindset and culture. They have outstanding written and communications skills, knows the value of brevity, and can channel a leader’s authentic voice (no ‘corp speak’ allowed). They have experience collaborating effectively with stakeholders of all levels and can leverage strategic communications to align and inspire employees across the business. They understand the importance of bringing rigor as well as joy to the workplace. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, a team-first mentality, and a hands-on, ‘no task is too big or too small’ approach.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with technology leaders to plan and implement comprehensive Internal Communications strategy for the organization. This includes aligning on objectives, messaging, cadence, and channels.
- Collaborate effectively with and influence stakeholders across the company
- Stand up events and channels needed to carry out the strategy — you might have to start new things!
- Draft, produce, and edit thoughtful and creative and multi-medium communications that engage employees and deliver the right messages
- Work closely with the Global Tech and Innovation Communications team and ensure consistency across internal and external comms and serve as a role model for what is possible
- Ensure communications practices support an inclusive hybrid environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 15+ years working in Internal Communications and/or public relations
- Incredible written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with high-level executives
- Excellent project management skills
- Tenured experience with large, complex organizational change management and the development and execution of communications strategy with proven results
- Ability to see the bigger picture of what needs to be done, remain unflappable under pressure, and stay nimble if change is needed
- Desire to inspire and align teams through highly engaging communications
- Excellent people management skills
Additional Description
Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
• The salary range for this role is $220,000-$320,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
• Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
