Washington State Community Connectors(WSCC) is a family-run organization. The foundation for being a family-run organization consists of four essential elements:
● Mission: It is dedicated to supporting families caring for a child or youth with social, emotional, substance use, or multi-system challenges.
● Governance: The board of the organization is comprised of at least 51% family members with “lived experience.”
● Personnel: The Executive Director/CEO and most staff members providing support are family members with lived experience.
● Family voice: The organization promotes and advances family voice at all levels and within systems that serve children, youth, and families.
Your passion for making a difference in the behavioral health community, your lived experiences, and your strong leadership skills will be instrumental in driving our mission of supporting the caregiver community with children, managing a wide range of behavioral health needs, forward and achieving our organizational goals.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement effective strategies to advance WSCC’s mission of uniting Washington State family leaders in behavioral health care, strengthening children, youth, family, and community partnerships, and WSCC’s vision of educating and empowering families to achieve better access for addressing their needs within their communities. You will lead a dedicated team, inspiring and guiding them to deliver exceptional results. Additionally, you will be responsible for building and maintaining solid relationships with stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and community partners.
The Executive Director is an experienced professional responsible for ensuring compliance and overseeing the strategic plan for the organization, all contracts, funding agreements, and Memoranda of Understandings (MOUs) held by WSCC. This position oversees the Project and Administrative Directors to ensure all program activities are completed, timely, and recorded for accurate reporting. This position reports to the Board of Directors and collaborates regularly with the Board Chair.
Responsibilities
● Provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the organization ● Develop and implement effective programs and initiatives to achieve our mission ● Oversee the organization's budget and financial management
● Build and maintain strong relationships with volunteers, community partners, and others ● Lead and inspire a team of dedicated staff members using a trauma-informed approach ● Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and execute strategic plans ● Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
Requirements
● Lived experience as Parent/Caregiver of a child or youth who has received or is receiving behavioral health services in Washington State
● 3-5 plus years of familiarity, leadership, and business/development experience in the family-led community.
● Certified Peer Counselor or familiarity with the Peer Counselor training program ● Proven success in meeting and exceeding performance goals.
● Must have demonstrated successful planning and oversight experience and a willingness to learn and understand the specific needs of the communities served. ● Experience successfully leading and managing a team(s)
● Well-founded knowledge of non-profit financial management
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to develop and maintain relationships with various stakeholders ● Experience or expertise in grant writing, reporting, and management ● Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute operational plans ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Gsuite, Zoom, and other standard software
