The Executive Director for Workforce Development and Continuing Education reports to the Vice President for Workforce Development and Continuing Education and oversees a program which provides non-credit, workforce training needs, general interest programs, courses, and events, as well as assessing the effectiveness of these activities. These courses are intended to appeal to the general public and provide learning opportunities on a variety of topics. Responsible for all aspects of Continuing Education and workforce training activities, including course scheduling, advertising, printing and distributing brochures, negotiating with instructors, scheduling rooms, audio/visual equipment, AC/heat, and transportation if needed. Responsibilities may require occasional early morning, evening or weekend hours.
Maintain records as required. Mediate student and faculty grievances. Make committee assignments. Serve on college committees. Attend community and campus cultural events. Meet with program advisory committees. Perform other related duties as required.
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Strong experience in adult education or adult skills training. Experience managing organizational budgets, personnel, and professional growth. Proven expertise in data collection, program review, and program evaluation.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Experience in administration and management of offices and others.
Accounting skills.
Knowledge of education principles, personnel; human resources, and customer service.
Advanced computer skills in using Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Master’s or doctoral degree from regionally accredited college or university.

Essential Job Functions:Oversee daily operations of the department including, but not limited to, timesheets, leave reports, request to travel, and program inventory.
Essential Job Functions:Schedule classes as needed for department operations and monitor the logging of contact hours.
Essential Job Functions:Facilitate training conducted in the Industry Training Facility by coordinating events and ensuring the participation of security and/or physical plant as needed.
Essential Job Functions:Daily supervision of department personnel.
Essential Job Functions:Market college programs, sell training programs to area industry, represent the college in industry and/or community development meetings.
