Exercise your leadership abilities along with your creative expertise as Executive Creative Director of our newly formed Digital Storytelling Lab. You will lead a team of creative strategists and help us light up the digital experiences that support how customers discover, learn about, and buy commercial services from Microsoft. As an Executive Creative Director (ECD) of our Digital Storytelling Lab, you will be leading the establishment of a new team. Its charter is to drive high quality creative outputs, in the creation of customer-centric marketing assets. This team will work in close partnership with our channels (web, social, paid, etc) to understand creative asset needs, and will work with our agency partners to execute outstanding creative solutions. Your team will also work with integrated marketing teams, getting input on creative asset needs and leading executions cross-channel. You’ll be accountable for the establishment and running of a fast-paced, strategic and highly collaborative studio. Your creative output will include assets that deliver on our digital marketing campaigns, like core campaign concepts, video content, visual graphics, long-form ebooks, and much more.

You have the flexibility to manage creatives, strategists, and program managers, as well as harness the best from creative agencies and other partners.


Exceptional creative talent. You’ve done it all—business to business and consumer, ads to web—and have the portfolio to prove it. You know how to manage agencies for the best outputs, and you understand how to design process and nurture people for the maximum creative innovation.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience leading agency or corporate brand management/design/marketing.
  • 10+ years in a creative role AND a certification, degree, or training in Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years experience working from briefs and translating creative direction and messaging into compelling creative
  • 5+ years in a people leadership role, including roles managing people outside the creative discipline.

Preferred Qualifications (PQs)

  • Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications,
  • OR related field.
  • 10+ years creative strategy experience, which could include brief writing and/or managing strategy on the corporate or agency side.
  • 10+ years experience managing projects (e.g., internal stakeholder management, timelines, prioritization, road mapping).
  • 5+ years direct people management experience.
  • 5+ years experience in a technology-related content domain/area, preferably cloud computing concepts.
  • 2+ years experience in a technology-related content domain/area.
  • Expertise in digital marketing and creative execution for a consistent customer journey across the range of digital channels.
  • Experience using data to innovate on creative outputs
  • Ability to work under constant deadline pressure and manage multiple projects across multiple teams with grace and flexibility.
  • Experience and demonstrated success marketing to developers, pre-sales, and executive audiences in the technology industry.
  • Understanding of the creative process and the ability to work collaboratively to land the best concepts and executions for customers

Brand M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $152,300 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $194,800 - $292,200 per year.
