Constructed in the 1860s, White Barn Inn's original farmhouse has offered superb hospitality since the days of the Civil War. It has operated as the White Barn Inn since 1973. In October 2018, White Barn Inn was acquired by Auberge Resorts Collection, a unique portfolio of the world's best-loved boutique luxury hotels and resorts.

Just a 90-minute drive north of Boston, the inviting property is renowned as one of the country's most distinctive getaways and features several room types, a pool, massage and spa treatments, gardens and a prime location near the sandy beaches and classic coastal town of Kennebunkport, Maine. ROLE SUMMARY Join the White Barn Inn as Executive Chef and become one of the authors of our story. As part of the team you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operational duties and financial responsibilities, providing leadership to and management of kitchen staff, and in growing and developing the product and profitability of the food items.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Menu design and direct food preparation, production and control for all food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, pool service, spa service, banquets, weddings, amenities, etc. Exhibit culinary talents by personally performing day-to-day tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions Ensure exceptional quality of all ingredients, preparation, and plating of food items Control labor and operating expenses through effective planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control while focusing on creative cost control and revenue generation solutions to maximize profit Coordinate the selection, training, coaching, development, motivation, and evaluation of employees to ensure exceptional service for our guests Be visible in the restaurant, providing recognition to guests, promoting positive public relations, handling special requests Ensure that sanitation standards as set forth by local, state & federal Health Department regulations are in compliance as well as the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and its equipment. Monitor and maintain the use of safe food handling procedures as well as a safe working environment by using correct food-handling skills and food safety guidelines.

Coach and teach the team by working side by side with them as needed to teach different techniques, prepare new items, etc. Always lead by example Work as an active member of the management team. Creating professional relationships and active involvement with all hotel operations, including but not limited to daily, and weekly management meetings, and support to all team members, including Manager on Duty Shifts.

Perform any other job related duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Culinary Certificate or Degree Five years' operating experience as an Executive or Executive Sous Chef Experience in maintaining state and federal health and safety regulations Experience in completing administrative tasks, to include, reporting, budgeting, project management, etc. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with Forbes standards SKILLS, ATTITUDES, AND BEHAVIORS Personal Skills Professional appearance and manner, good character to work with a fast-paced team Ability to communicate clearly and elegantly in English Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs Ability to perform under pressure PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours and be able to lift up, push, and pull at least 35 pounds OUR STORY At Auberge, we are passionate about our mission to be the best-loved operator of one-of-a-kind luxury properties and experiences.
