HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

TheExecutive Assistant to the Presidentof Georgia State University provides administrative and project management support, including negotiating and maintaining the President's schedule, briefing the President throughout the day on calendar changes, prioritizing requests for meetings, managing routine communication, and providing outstanding customer service to a broad range of constituents in a highly confidential environment.

Competencies Required:

  • Ability to think critically to solve problems.

  • Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Collaboration tools such as Teams, Outlook
  • Professional level written and oral skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Understanding of the Higher Education environment
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to project a positive image and represent GSU and the President's office.
  • Understands complex and changing priorities and can respond with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Capacity to take the initiative in problem-solving.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to students, faculty, and staff of varying racial, ethnic, religious, gender, cultural, disability, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Tasks:

  • Manages and develops the President’s complex schedule, evaluates the calendar and related matters with the President, and provides daily updates to optimize the President’s schedule, ensuring meetings begin on time with prep and supporting / supplementary materials for events and meetings.
  • Evaluate requests for assistance; collaborate with departments across the University to address matters of concern for individuals, including students, parents, staff, faculty, and others.
  • Organizes travel and accommodations requirements, prepares itineraries, and negotiates hotel and air reservations.
  • Prepares technical reports as needed.
  • Assists with meetings, including scheduling; organizing and managing the production of the materials; serves as a liaison to attendees; manages all logistics for set-up and oversight.
  • Providing strategic assistance to the President in establishing priorities for the office and the President's external and internal commitments.
  • Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the President, including those sensitive or confidential. Determines appropriate course of action, referral, or responses.

Qualifications

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience supporting executive leadership or a combination of relevant experience

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

  • Experience in Higher Education environment
