This position includes but is not limited to performing semi-skilled and skilled cleaning, housekeeping and/or general maintenance duties in all areas on the UCDH campus; waste handling for regular, regulated medical waste (RMW) and linen waste and perform other duties as assigned. Ensures all necessary procedures for equipment are used in accordance with departmental safety policies. This position is physically demanding and will require a great deal of lifting, stretching, walking, and bending.

The Environmental Services Department is responsible for all aspects of housekeeping functions/services in all UCDMC owned and leased facilities. The department is also responsible for the recycling and shredding programs.

Special Requirements
- Incumbent must be willing and able to work variable shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and float to other units/areas/buildings/runs.
- This position may include tasks in patient care areas where there are patients under isolation precautions.
- This position may require staff to clean and handle blood/bodily fluids, hazardous materials and chemical waste.
- Enrollment in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
- This position is a critical position and subject to a background check and drug screen. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history, identity checks and drug screen.
