Job description

We're looking for persons, male & female, to help with local special events in the area of Aspen, Vail, Glenwood Springs and other areas in Colorado for the summer/fall 2024 event season and beyond. You will need to assist set up and tear down of event lighting, sound systems, simple decor, video screens, power distribution and loading and unloading box trucks.

You will be responsible for setting and striking audio visual equipment. Prior experience not required, however a strong technology and/or hospitality background will be looked upon with favor. Training is provided for those with the willingness to learn this industry.

You do not need your own equipment; we provide all the equipment and equipment transportation vehicles.

This is similar to a corporate audio visual setting, the "Rock-N-Roll" image is not preferred.

You must own your own cell phone, reliable vehicle to get to work, have a valid Colorado driver’s license, and regular email ability.

This is an independent contractor position, and you will receive a 1099. An Independent Contractor Agreement will need to be signed. This means you will not be an employee and taxes will not be taken out, you have to file them yourself. Having a DBA Trade Name(doing business as) will allow you to expense or write off; work clothing, gas, expenses and things used in the normal course of doing this business. You would need a DBA Trade Name registered with the Colorado Secretary Of State, this is only around $20 and we will assist you getting this done if you so desire.

Summary of some of the duties and requirements:

  • Deliver, set up, and take down audio, lighting, and video equipment for Corporate Events, Weddings and Receptions, Fund Raisers, GALA’s, Conferences, Business Meetings, in meeting spaces, hotel ballrooms, tents, and outside.
  • Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, walk, climb ladders, and carry heavy equipment.
  • Climb ladders, use man lifts, use basic hand tools.
  • Carry 50lbs up to 50 yards, and lift 30lbs over head.
  • Need sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations including a wide range of weather conditions.
  • Meet certain standards of performance and conduct as pertaining to the essential functions.
  • Possess excellent guest service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems under pressure and in stressful situations.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and self-supervise on projects and daily work assignments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills necessary to meet the individual AV needs of groups and conferences.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills pertaining to the job.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts - sometimes early mornings or late nights, long work hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills; for example, friendly, personable, helpful, patient, and professional.
  • Promote safe work practices and a safe environment for guests, and coworkers.
  • Promote a cooperative, positive, and flexible atmosphere while working with others in a diverse environment.
  • Must meet acceptable criminal background check.
  • You need to provide/wear your own black work shirt and dress pants, comfortable closed-toe shoes and work boots as necessary. Sweatpants or yoga pants will not be permitted. All clothing must be clean, in good condition without faded or bleached areas, no tears or holes, and be worn normally—no saggy pants, plain clothes without logos, photos, print or any markings.
