Job description

Position Summary:
The Porter is responsible for loading and unloading equipment and food and distributing at events. This position is also responsible for general clean up at events.

Customary Days: Sunday - Saturday

Customary Hours: Varies to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business requires

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Load and unload trucks; i.e. food, ice and dollies, after their arrival to event location.
● After the arrival at the event venue, unload all equipment from delivery truck and stage in the kitchen area. Distribute bar equipment and supplies. Ensure that ice is delivered to the appropriate location.

● Upon conclusion of event, reload kitchen and bar equipment (after the bartenders have completed their breakdown and assortment of bar).

● Set-up and clean Porter stand according to Blue Plate guidelines.
● Prepare coffee and set up condiment station at the event venue.
● Porter is responsible for picking up materials and additional supplies from dock and delivery to Event Supervisor or Event Chef.
● Clean-up of any broken equipment; i.e. dishes, glass, etc. (back of the house only or when an event is not in progress).
● Adhere to sanitation and cleaning guidelines per Blue Plate standards.
● Responsible for cleaning Porter area/ stand and ensure that all areas are maintained in the same condition that existed prior to the event commencing.
● Assist Event Supervisor, with unloading trucks. Closely follow directives that identify the appropriate disposition of leftover food and beverage items.
● Store service linen once it has been inventoried by Event Supervisor.
● Daily, pull together inventory overstock to be reviewed by Event Supervisor.
● Perform other relevant duties as required.

● Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch. Constant standing throughout the shift is required.

● Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 90 lbs.
● Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
