The Event Planner at Queenstown is responsible for managing perfectly planned and delightfully detailed events at our Queenstown Harbor property, owned and managed by the Brick Companies. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales and Events. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Sales and Marketing:
- Manage all aspects of event planning meeting strict deadlines
- Nurture and build relationships with clients, vendors, and other industry contacts to craft and implement creative and logistical aspects of all events
- Stay current, and often ahead of the curve, on event planning, design, and production trends, proactively identifying and solving operational challenges
- Comply with county laws and property standards at all times
- Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal staff, clients, vendors, and others to establish needs for events throughout the planning process
- Plan and facilitate logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, venue preparation, catering, and equipment set up
- Oversee client experiences from conception through post-event, managing on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown, ensuring consistent, high-level service throughout all phases
- Troubleshoot and handle any issues that arise on the event day
- The ability to pivot when necessary and roll with the task at hand
- An open mind, ready to help grow the special events that take place at Queenstown Harbor
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven success as an Event Planner or Coordinator
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in maintaining and building enriching business relationships
- Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to handle pressure and make split-second decisions
- Must be able to work some weekends
- Must work well in a team environment and willingness to do what it takes to achieve success
- This position is extremely busy from Mid-April through October
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in event management or a related discipline or industry experience
- Knowledge of golf not required
- Experience in Event Temple a plus but not required
- A positive attitude and a great sense of humor
