Starting Salary Range: $47,931-$65,212

Job Summary: The Event Planner is responsible for planning, organizing, and promoting both internal and external BNA/JWN events. The Event Planner works closely with the Manager, Community Affairs in the operation of the Arts at the Airport Live Music Program, including assistance with the development, planning, and managing of programs and activities related to live music performances and various special events/programs to help promote community involvement at the airport. The Event Planner also manages the logistics for the BNA Aviation Classic Golf Tournament, BNA 5K on the Runway, Gate parties and many other events throughout the year.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Meets with decision makers to determine event purpose and scope.
  • Plans and manages the logistics of an event including, venue, guests, programs, catering and marketing.
  • Tracks event expenses and reviews accuracy of invoices.
  • Selects event vendors and staff, directs and supervises their work.
  • Attends assigned events to make sure everything runs smoothly.
  • Delegates tasks to event team during setup and breakdown.
  • Tracks event key performance areas and identifies items to work on for future events.
  • Supervises the set-up, running and breakdown of the event, also identifies and resolves problems.
  • Monitors stage equipment, sound system, video equipment, and televisions.
  • Maintains departmental databases for projects and events to include processing payments and invoice requisitions.
  • Serves as a back-up signatory for Art at the Airport musicians and Flying Solo Artist/Staff.
  • Responds to social media inquiries regarding the BNA / JWN events.
  • Serves as a liaison for city-wide welcome events by coordinating with outside entities.
  • Creates reports for events.
  • Acts as a consultant and provides technical assistance to other airports interested in creating unique events.
  • Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
  • Follows all safety regulations.
  • Supports MNAA’s commitment to its culture and values, Rise, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associates degree in a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years planning medium to large scale events with a strong emphasis in project coordination, customer service and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • 4-6 years of experience planning medium to large scale events with a strong emphasis in project coordination, customer service, and organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.04 - $31.35 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
