Job Description
Under the supervision of the Dean of Students, the Security Guard works to protect students, teachers, and school property, promoting and providing a safe environment for the entire Saint Mary's community. All activities are directed towards the well-being and safety of students, the enforcement of school rules and procedures, and the security of people and property. Taking initiative and paying attention to detail are requirements for success in this position. The Security Guard will perform other job-related duties as required or assigned by supervisors.
Duties include:
- Patrolling and securing the campus, including gates, buildings, parking lots
- Monitor CCTV camera footage
- Protect the school's property and assets from theft, fire, and other safety issues
- Notify maintenance and facilities about damage to property for correction
- Respond immediately to alarms and emergencies
- Communicate any irregularities at the school to administration
- Keep the incident report factual and current
- Follow procedures for various initiatives including fire prevention, traffic control and investigations
- Check and escort visitors in and out of school and around premises
- Supervise students on campus, especially in large events and gatherings
- Identify areas of concern on campus for student and teacher safety and implement solutions
- Escort students

Additional Information:
- Minimum high school diploma
- Safe Environment Training complete and current
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- 40 hours per week
- Occasional weekends and evenings
