Position: Evaluator, Evaluator II
Position Summary:
The Evaluator/Evaluator II is responsible for managing evaluation projects in collaboration with the Lead Evaluator. They may also oversee projects independently. Communication with clients, data collection and analysis, and report generation are key aspects of the role. They develop evaluation instruments, administer surveys, conduct interviews and focus groups, and manage project databases. The Evaluator contributes to evaluation plan development and design, conducts literature reviews, and may participate in presentations. Additionally, they provide supervision and guidance to Research Analysts/Specialists and support business development efforts. Professional development and optional committee participation are encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Collaboratively manage evaluation projects alongside the Lead Evaluator.
- Independently oversee small projects or specific components within larger evaluation initiatives.
- Engage in effective client communication, including co-leading client calls, providing evaluation updates via email, and attending meetings (including occasional travel).
- Contribute to cross-team projects led by different Lead Evaluator/Directors.
- Monitor task completion timelines and develop/review project invoices.
Data Collection, Management, and Analysis
- Develop evaluation instruments, including surveys, evaluation forms, interview protocols, focus group protocols, and assessment rubrics.
- Administer surveys, conduct focus groups, interviews, observations, and utilize various data collection methods.
- Create and manage master databases for projects.
- Clean and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate analysis techniques.
Reporting
- Develop outlines for project reports.
- Create reports in accessible formats tailored to meet clients' needs.
- Generate relevant data visualizations.
- Review analyses and written work produced by research analysts.
- Contribute to formal and informal presentations at project meetings, advisory board meetings, and conferences.
Evaluation Design
- Assist in the development of detailed evaluation plans, logic models, and concept maps.
- Contribute to the methodological and theoretical design of evaluation and research projects.
- Conduct literature reviews to identify appropriate evaluation methods.
Team Management and Leadership
- Supervise and provide guidance to Research Analysts/Research Specialist.
- Maintain open communication within and outside the team regarding priorities, task progress, and completion.
Other
- Support business development efforts.
- Perform other evaluation and research-related duties typically expected in a similar role.
- Engage in professional development activities for personal, team, and company growth.
