Waxing The City is a body waxing & skin care services studio in Vancouver, WA seeking an Esthetician for a part-time position.
Hi! I'm Carlotta, Esthetician & owner of Waxing The City in Vancouver, WA.
We've been open since September of 2022-How time flies! We are now looking for another addition to the team. We need someone who will be genuine and honest. Our vibe is chill, and our team is the heart & soul that keep us running. Drama is left at the door, but that doesn't mean we can't vent. Hard work & education is a daily meditation, but that doesn't mean we don't have fun. If this sounds like you, apply and tell us about yourself.
SCHEDULE
This is a part-time schedule.
Minimum of 12 hours to a current maximum of 18.5 hours a week and willing to add more as books build.

• Friday 9:00 AM-1:00 PM
• Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
• Sunday 10:00 AM-2:00 PM (Sunday shift will start May 5, 2024)
• Monday 9:00 AM-4:00 PM/Leaving between 2pm-4pm (30-minute lunch when applicable)

The schedule for Friday's, Saturday's, and Monday's start immediately upon hire.
The schedule for Sunday will start on May 5, 2025
This schedule is set and not negotiable unless business needs change.

TRAINING SCHEDULE

• Please expect that you will need a full five-day week of uninterrupted initial training from 9a-5p upon start.
• Continued training will occur during regularly scheduled hours.

PAY
Base hourly pay + Commission + Tips
Base pay: $16.50 per hour
Commission
Commission structure is introduced after hire depending on experience.

• Paid twice a month
• Grows with performance
• Paid for each service
• Paid for each product sold
• Paid for each membership/service package sold

That means you are paid hourly + opportunity for THREE types of commission + tips.
For those Esthetician's who only get paid in percentages that do not include a base pay- We are paying consistently OVER 30% per paycheck with base+commission+tips- CONSISTENTLY

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reports directly to studio Leadership
• SERVING ALL BODIES AND GENDERS
• Selling products and membership/services packages is a required part of the job-If you don't like selling or are motivated to learn how to sell, then this may not be the position for you.
• Follow safety and sanitation standards in accordance with the State of Washington (WAC 308-20-110)
• Accountable for efficient, effective, and high-quality service delivery following all defined waxing and skin service standards:

*Waxing all bodies and genders
*Skin Revelation (Vajacials, Body extractions, Body detox treatments)
*Brow Lamination
*Lash Lift
*Brow Tint
*Lash Tint
*Other new services we may introduce

• Responsible for implementation of customer service standards for all internal and external clients

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• This position requires standing for long periods of time
• Occasional required lifting up to 20lbs
• Walking and moving about on foot to accomplish tasks
• Use hand, finger, and wrist movements frequently

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Current Washington State licensure (Esthetician, Cosmetologist)
• Drug Screens are not conducted to get this job!
• Background check will be conducted

Compensation: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour

• Accepts true coaching: This means that we are not a place that writes people up for every little thing. If we see something that needs correcting, we address it right away and move on to not let negative feelings linger. This also means that we will always be available to answer your questions.
• We worry when you don't have questions. As you progress you will have less and less questions and because you are mastering your job. By that time, you will not need corrective coaching, but meetings about operations and studio flow.
• Understand that this position makes and receives a lot of calls on a daily basis because we are an Esthetics studio and without clients through the door, there would be no job for you to apply to.
