Baker Tilly has an incredible career opportunity for a consultant to join our growing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Sustainability consulting team.
Baker Tilly’s ESG and Sustainability Consulting Practice combines deep functional, industry, and technical capabilities to help clients define and implement their environmental, social, and governance strategies and programs. We meet clients where they are on their ESG journey to support them in navigating the complexities of the ESG landscape including goal setting, data management, reporting, preparing for and complying with regulation, and more.

What You Will Do
Work closely with client executives and management teams to assist with ESG assurance readiness activities, ESG reporting compliance requirements, GHG emission reporting, and climate-related risk reporting.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of clients’ businesses and industries by having direct client interaction while working on multiple aspects of an engagement
- Assist clients in preparing for regulatory requirements through activities such as greenhouse gas inventorying, climate-related risk assessments, and ESG and sustainability reporting
- Assist clients in the development, refinement, and maturation of their ESG goals, strategy, and disclosures through activities such as materiality assessments, and industry benchmarking
- Apply a deep understanding of the ESG landscape, regulatory requirements, reporting frameworks, rating agencies, and best practices to client engagements
- Think independently and strategically about your clients’ ESG strategy, compliance requirements, reporting and measurement providing recommendations and improvements based upon knowledge gained relative to the client’s operations, processes and strategies.
- Provide strategic business advice to clients by assisting in the implementation of new reporting processes
- Assist in drafting comprehensive executive summaries and final reports for delivery to the client, documenting and reviewing engagement work papers in accordance with regulatory requirements and applicable frameworks
- Act as a valued business advisor, build relationships and communicate effectively with the client to provide superior client service

Qualifications
Successful candidates will have:
- Demonstrate the desire to continually grow, learn and develop skills and knowledge through external and internal education, training and cross-training opportunities to maximize personal contribution to the organizational goals and ongoing career development
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- 1+ year(s) experience; previous related consulting experience with sustainability and ESG projects
- Knowledge of ESG related reporting, including ESG standards and frameworks—TCFD, GHG protocol, SASB and GRI
- Demonstrated ability assisting clients in complying with ESG reporting including GHG emission reporting and implementation of TCFD recommendations.
- Prefer certifications (FSA credential, SCR, GRI)
- Experience with carbon accounting and climate-related risk assessments
- Understanding and awareness of the ESG industry developments including net-zero strategies, and value chain considerations and sustainable financing concepts
- Experience working across an organization with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to think creatively to solve problems gained through prior experience, education, training to resolve issues and remove project obstacles
- Demonstrated analytical, organization, interpersonal, communication, and highly developed Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
- Ability to travel as needed and work outside of core business hours for client engagements
Additional Information
For California, Colorado, New York and Washington: The compensation range for this role is $59,640 to $126,440. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
