Role and Responsibilities
Building on VFF's business strategy, the ESG & Compliance Program Lead will develop, document and grow the scale and impact of Valley Forge Fabrics ESG programs. The Sustainability & ESG Program Lead will collaborate with internal teams to strengthen sustainability governance and business integration. A key responsibility of the role will be to drive the organization to sustainably advance VFF business objectives with emphasis on key impact areas such as product sustainability, identifying responsible materials, sustainable operations, product stewardship and corporate values engagement including diversity, equity & inclusion. The Sustainability & ESG Program Lead will support communications, sales and operations teams and will measure and report on VFF's performance against its goals.
Governance and Engagement
Recommend KPI dashboard and work with Business Analytics & PMO team to support regular reporting for VFF sustainability performance reviews.
Research ESG and industry best practices, compliance requirements by state locations, Identify, develop and promote cross-functional initiatives in support of strategic objectives and facilitate visibility across VFF.
Research relevant market regulations and prioritize and take action to ensure company compliance.
Proactively develop events, trainings and programs that engage and educate internal teams, customers and supply chain on VFF's sustainability priorities.
Communications and Reputation
Develop materials and support review of marketing and PR initiatives in regards to ESG reporting internally and externally.
Work with Marketing and internal teams to audit online presence and ensure ESG content is accurate and always on point.
Sales Support
Support response to sustainability related RFPs and customer inquiries. Track and respond to these accurately and efficiently.
Refresh trainings for VFF Sales and service teams. Develop collateral for customer interactions.
Benchmark key customer sustainability priorities and identify partnership opportunities with major accounts and/or industry colleagues.
Facilities
Support facilities' efforts to develop and maintain LEED certification and/or ESG initiatives.
Supply Chain
Partner with VFF Product Development team and be the measuring stick of sustainability in collaboration with the products VFF develop to increase customer delight.
Benchmark best practices of VFF vendors.
Use current partnerships and investments with MindClick and Assent to collect information and define ways to synthesize the data for VFF use across teams.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor' Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
Desire & motivation to grow and experience developing and implementing ESG programs, with a strong focus on business integration.
Exercises a high degree of independent judgment in recognizing problems and developing solutions. Strong business and financial acumen.
A track record of executing assignments accurately and efficiently, with minimal supervision. Strong ability to analyze and interpret data.
Competency to work with and influencing company leadership on projects that involve new policies and programs.
Prior experience in implementing an integrated ESG program; especially goal setting, performance metrics/KPI reporting, internal management systems, etc.
An academically learned and/or deep understanding of contemporary ESG issues and stakeholder perspectives.
Ability to anticipate trends and issues that impact the Company's business strategy and reputation.
Work environment is active, collaborative and engaging with many meetings and normal degree of interruptions. Frequently required to see, hear and give verbal and demonstrative instructions including presentations and speaking engagement. Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time working on computer systems. Frequently required to walk, stand, review samples and fabrics on rolls, reach, bend and climb short ladders.
Infrequent travel to events, suppliers, mills and other company locations.
