Escape Room Game Master/Host/Hostess

Are you looking for a fun and engaging part-time job? We are seeking enthusiastic people to join our team as game operators at our Herndon location this Spring and beyond. High School degree is a bonus.

The Details:

Game operators start at $14.00 per hour working 10-20 hours per week depending on schedules and availability. Primary workdays are Tuesday – Sunday, afternoon to evening. The ideal candidate will be available throughout the day including the hours of 9 am- 3 pm if needed. Most shifts start after noon. MUST LIVE IN THE AREA (Northern VA). The typical shift is 4-6 hours.

At Escape Room Herndon, our guests get a chance to flex their mental muscles while locked in a room with only 1 hour to find clues and solve mind-bending puzzles in order to win their freedom. Your job is to guide them through their adventure and ensure they have a great time. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

A day in the life at the Escape Room

As a game operator a typical day might include the following:

• Greeting and checking-in guests
• Providing rules and background stories to customers
• Monitoring players and providing hints to help them progress through the game
• Resetting games for the next group of would-be escape artists
• Fixing props
• Devising diabolical new ways to confound and challenge our guests

You're awesome at:

• Problem solving and puzzles
• Interacting with people in an enthusiastic, outgoing manner
• Thinking quickly on your feet
• Attention to detail

Bonus awesomeness if:

• You’ve played an Escape Room before
• To prove your attention to detail, in your cover letter tell us your favorite 90's movie
• You have secondary skills that can contribute to the design, build, and staging of our future adventures (carpentry, electronics, puzzle design, etc.)
• Have previous customer support experience
• Experience as a host or hosting events
• If you can find the bread type coded into the previous section we'll be even more impressed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Preferred)
• Night Shift (Preferred)
