Summary:
Provides translation services for development, administration, training and trouble shooting for system-wide Spanish MyChart. Serves as Spanish-speaking Community Liaison for the Equity and Inclusion (E & I) Department.
Responsibilities:
1. Translates and maintains UNC Health documents and forms into Spanish, for implementation within programs and initiatives.
2. Translates various patient documents and communications from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.
3. Creates, reviews and edits E & I marketing materials for Spanish-speaking patients and communities.
4. Develops and facilitates Spanish MyChart training sessions and troubleshooting for Spanish Speaking patients.
5. Serve as Spanish-speaking Community Liaisons at E & I internal and community events.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- American Translator Association (ATA) Certification, preferred but not required.
- One (1) year of experience in a Translator/Interpreter role in a healthcare or human services setting.
Demonstrates fluency in the Spanish and English languages and possession of extensive knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, through successful completion of the designated language assessments administered through ALTA Language Services.
