Overview:
MAPMG is seeking a Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (EID) Intern to join the Strategy and Implementation team. The intern will support a Director on a variety of projects and should have interest in the following fields: Equity Inclusion and Diversity (EID), dementia, nutrition and weight management, congestive heart failure, and/or wound care.
This Summer Internship is designed to provide graduate students with an interest in health care systems, consulting, project management, and strategic planning the opportunity to spend their summer working on challenging projects in a professional environment. The internship is designed to provide a wide array of experiences that traverse the areas of consulting, analytics, project management, strategy, communications, and executive leadership. Ideal interns are self-starters, energized by a fast-paced work environment, exercise exceptional judgment, enjoy working on teams, have excellent attention to detail and are interested in improving health care delivery
MAPMG's internship program will run from June 5th to August 18th - all interns must be able to work throughout the full duration. This position is a 20 hours per week part-time summer internship position.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the Director in executing projects and events for the EID Team. This includes:
    • Planning materials and events for Hispanic Heritage Month and other important days of recognition
    • Assisting in the management of the EID Ambassadors program
    • Developing EID-specific communications
    • Participating in EID Team meetings and tracking deliverables/outcomes
    • Updating EID Sharepoint site
    • Developing monthly event calendars
    • Writing monthly article on EID topics for MAPMG newsletter
  • Support the Director in other projects as needed, including:
    • Planning and executing continuing medical education (CME) events
    • Developing clinical templates for dementia care
    • And many other ad hoc needs that arise.

Qualifications:
  • Student working towards master’s degree in public health, health communications, and health administration encouraged to apply. Other related disciplines may be considered
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evening hours
  • Driver’s license with clean driving record and access to a reliable mode of transportation
  • Demonstrated interest in working in the healthcare environment
  • Project management and communications experience preferred
  • Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills required
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and deliver action items in accordance with timelines
  • Ability to perform literature and reference searches
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience working on teams, as well as independently and autonomously
  • Must be a self-starter
