Purpose and scope:
Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
Responsibilities:
- Operates various pieces of equipment, from standard vehicles to heavy equipment, as needed for the processes of construction, demolition, or excavation.
- Monitors equipment condition for regular operation.
- May perform minor or regular maintenance or repairs.
- Directs to relevant department (e.g., fleet) for major or complex servicing.
- All other duties as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Education / Skills:
May need state licensing. High school diploma or its equivalent. Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may have 2 years experience plus an associates degree, or additional training or certification.
