- Maintains, repairs, replaces, and keeps in good working order all mechanical and electrically operated doors, ranging in size from small domestic type to large hangar doors. Operating components includes control circuit, chain and sprocket, geared motor and cable.
- Lubricates, adjusts, and replaces defective parts.
- Repairs track rollers, blades, cable gear, hydraulic systems, and adjusts orreplaces worn clutches, brake bands, controls, gears, sheaves, and cables on monorail cranes, ranging in capacity up to 100 tons.
- Must have knowledge of the following hydraulic, electrical and electronic components: pumps, relief valves, cylinders, electrical solenoids, valves, automatic vents, decontrol valves, manifolds, hydraulic motors, hand control valves, pilot-operated check valves, flow control valves, spool valves, slave valves, flexible hoses, filters, speed controls, etc.
- Maintains, repairs and services all components of the airfield arresting gear.
- Installs new motorized doors, cranes, hoist, and air compressors, and associated piping and equipment.
- Maintains hydraulic and manually operated loading dock components.
- Must service, repair, and maintain all overhead cranes, air compressors, man lifts, handicapped lifts, and elevators.
- Must be able to perform all manufacturer-recommended operator/preventative maintenance.
Requirements
- Must meet all Core Job Specifications
- Must maintain all required equipment specific licenses
- Must have five (5) years of experience working as an Equipment Mechanic.
- Must be knowledgeable in elementary electricity and the use of multi-meters to trouble-shoot and repair electrical problems from the electrical power disconnect to the equipment being serviced.
- Must have ability to diagnose troubles and effect repairs on equipment of alarge range of sizes and capacity and have thorough knowledge of standard and specialized tools, precision measuring devices, test equipment, and gear lubricants.
