Job description

Inpria, a subsidiary of JSR Corporation, has an immediate opening for an Equipment Engineer in Corvallis, OR. This hands-on position carries responsibilities for supporting and improving product formulation equipment of multiple sizes, performing new equipment qualification, and ensuring accuracy of vital record-keeping systems. This position provides career growth opportunities in an expanding team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work efficiently with limited direct supervision and communicate well with our Engineering team.
Primary Responsibilities
•Act as liaison between Inpria manufacturing team and professional contract agencies
•Perform preventive and responsive maintenance, and assist in calibration activities
•Coordinate with maintenance team on first response to equipment downtime
•Investigate system performance, cycle time, aging, and loading to predict failure
•Install, replace, substitute and modify elements of fluid recirculation systems
•Understand normal and abnormal system operation, and analyze sensor data to determine root cause of failures
•Perform new equipment Factory Acceptance Test at supplier
•Conduct site assessment, installation and performance qualification, and equipment handoff to production
•Design retrofits to equipment to satisfy corrective and preventive actions without a quality impact
•Continuously improve existing systems for increased safety, quality, and throughput
•Use web-based tracking and scheduling system to manage and log equipment specifications, maintenance events, and changes
•Follow, update, and create written SOPs and process instructions
•Modify equipment drawings and CAD files with revision control
•Gain a thorough knowledge of installed equipment capability and facility requirements
•Coordinate with facilities engineering to document site and system changes
•Follow safe work practices including wearing PPE and using LOTO
•Understand chemical filtration and mixing principles and perform wet bench activities
•Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team to meet design objectives for a variety of stakeholders
Key Qualifications
•Minimum Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering with 0-2 years of experience
•Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and web-based platforms
•Demonstrates good chemical hygiene, safe laboratory practices; recognizes hazardous conditions and addresses them
•Well organized, proactive, enthusiastic, flexible, quality-minded, and eager to learn
•Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, willingness to work off-shift hours when needed
•Preference given to Mechanical Engineering candidates with chemical processing or lab experience, or Chemical Engineering candidates with design and systems experience
•Demonstration of active and effective communication skills, verbal and written
•Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
•Ability to work in a production environment long periods of time
•Ability to use tools to lift equipment
•Ability to lift 40 pounds from floor to table height
•Ability to move full 55-gallon drums with appropriate equipment
