Under general supervision of the Epidemiology Manager; manages data and conducts epidemiological evaluations and studies in communicable and environmental diseases and general population health. Participates in making health and risk assessments and provides expertise to health department physicians, medical professionals, other departmental personnel and environmental regulatory personnel. Will plan and conduct disease investigations; develop and maintain disease surveillance systems; collect, analyze and interpret statistical data and prepare reports; help develop disease control policies and procedures; serve as a technical expert in assigned area(s), providing technical assistance and consultative services to colleagues.

One year of direct work experience in the field of epidemiology performing study design, implementation, or analysis is also required.
OR
Master's Degree in Public Health at an accredited college or university with an emphasis in Epidemiology or related field that includes a minimum of two (2) graduate level classes in advanced methodology and two (2) graduate level courses in statistics or biostatistics. One (1) year of direct work experience within the field of Epidemiology performing study design, implementation or analysis is also required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work requires extensive utilization of computer keyboarding, data collections and analysis, and travel to agency meetings and program development.
