This position will primarily function as a liaison between the Human Resources Department, Information Technology Department, and 3rd party vendors, with regard to Human Resources computer, electronic and other similar business systems. Through the management and support of the Human Resources systems, the position will provide actionable assessments and will be an integral part of the HR team.
The HR Information Systems Analyst consults with HCM functional leads and project teams to better understand business challenges,?help define and gather business requirements, and recommend solutions that improve business processes and HCM workflows. The HR Systems Analyst champions change management practices and leads the tactical execution of HCM configuration, testing, and implementation activities for HR projects.
The HR Information Systems Analyst will play a key role in the City's Workday HCM implementation (with a target launch date of September 2024).
- Serve as a Workday HCM functional "architect," developing an intimate understanding of how the system functions across the entire Workday HCM ecosystem (e.g., Recruiting, Core Compensation, Talent/Performance, Benefits, etc.)
- Work closely with business counterparts to gather, document, and inventory business requirements as well as assist with prioritizing business-requested projects as part of the overall Workday roadmap
- Consult with and analyze user needs and develop system requirements
- Plan and make recommendations for Human Resources Information technology strategies and projects
- Track, solve, test, and troubleshoot HR systems issues and enhancement requests
- Plan, design, propose and implement/configure changes/improvements to internal computer and electronic HR systems
- Responsible for design, documentation, testing, creation, or modification of components of Workday HCM
- Act as a liaison between the Human Resources department and Information Technology (which may include 3rd party vendors) to ensure the assigned department's project needs are being communicated effectively and are on schedule
- Manage project timelines
- Participate in implementation and enhancements of HR systems
- Serves in a lead role with the City's Workday Change Control Committee which plans for and coordinates development, testing, and system release activities in concert with business needs and objectives
- Test changes and enhancements to HR systems
- Train users on new and updated applications or processes
- Develop, test, and deploy advanced and expert-level custom reports in HR
- Maintain the integrity and security of documents and files
- Perform other duties as assigned
Basic requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field and two years of progressive HRIS experience implementing and supporting complex HR systems.
- Advanced computer systems skills including: four years of experience working with complex, enterprise-wide and/or Human Resources Information Systems
- Experience with Microsoft Excel specifically including work with large data sets and PivotTables
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Experience in Workday HCM modules.
- Experience with statistical, analytical, or business intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics.
- Knowledge of accepted methods and practices of position classification, recruitment and staffing, organizational development, and/or employee development and training
