JOB SUMMARY

The Epic Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in the planning, design, and implementation of Epic features, solutions, and enhancements within a healthcare organization. This role involves collaborating with various operational, information services, and managed services stakeholders to ensure that Epic Systems are effectively integrated into the organization's healthcare information technology ecosystem. The Epic Solution Architect is responsible for creating and maintaining technical solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals and maximize the utility of Epic for patient care and administrative functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

    1. Epic Systems Expertise: Serve as the primary clinical expert on Epic , including modules related to core EpicCare Ambulatory and Inpatient support to guide the organization in leveraging these tools effectively.
    2. Solution Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement Epic-based solutions that meet the organization's needs, including customization, configuration, and integration with other third party applications.
    3. Technical Consulting: Assist portfolio owners with solution design, scoping calibration, and serve as an expert to validate enhancements and potential projects under the clinical team purview.
    4. System Optimization: Proactively reviews technical setup for critical architecture and configuration and provides optimization and improvement opportunities - articulating the required level of effort with the benefits of each potential improvement.
    5. Integration: Oversee the integration of Epic with new and existing third party systems to ensure an optimal long-term approach.
    6. Portfolio Health: Continuously evaluate and optimize Epic modules to improve efficiency, usability, and patient outcomes.
    7. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and best practices.
    8. Collaboration: Work closely with vendors, project managers, and other stakeholders to drive successful Epic projects and implementations.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

The role of an Epic Solution Architect is critical in ensuring that healthcare organizations can effectively utilize Epic Systems to improve patient care, streamline operations, and meet regulatory requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of both technical and healthcare aspects, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a complex, ever-evolving healthcare IT environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
  • EXPERIENCE - 7 Years of Experience

Preferences:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology).
    • Certification in Epic Systems, such as EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, or other applicable modules.
    • Proven experience in Epic Systems implementation and maintenance.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulations.
    • Strong project management skills are a plus.
