Epic Analyst II-NYC based hybrid
Information Technology
Hospital for Special Surgery has an opportunity for an experienced Epic analyst to collaborate on all aspects of the implementation of the Epic Enterprise System's Cadence module. As a key member of the Information Technology Department, the Epic Analyst II will attain/maintain specialized knowledge of our enterprise Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and serve as a vital liaison between the HSS IT Department, hospital departments, physician's offices, and Epic representatives.
**This position requires the flexibility to work an expanded work schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends during major implementation and support efforts**
Responsibilities
- Actively work on all aspects of Cadence implementations including the workflow design, build, data collection, and testing along with all support activities.
- Coordinate and communicate with scheduling and patient access personnel including managers and representatives from other business entities and physician's offices.
- Identifies opportunities to improve existing processes and gives meaningful feedback to help the customer or team to improve.
- Reviews and assesses the impact of changes and enhancements with each new Epic release and makes recommendations for the best course of action.
- Collects relevant and actionable data through research and investigation and gives context with the ability to provide something useful, organized, and structured.
- Experience and ability to work in a ticket system effectively and efficiently.
- Provide on-call support on a rotating basis.
- Provide on-site support during go-live and system upgrade scenarios.
- Participate in internal team meetings as well as meeting with operational stakeholders and provide subject-matter-expert knowledge to colleagues.
- Remain current on Epic technologies and obtain and maintain Epic certifications as warranted.
- Develop relationships, trust, and credibility to successfully manage multiple demands; maintain daily communications with Epic users.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Certified in Epic Cadence.
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills
- Demonstrated ability in adherence to process standards around documentation and workflow design.
- Project management skills including, but not limited to the ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues list, and manage project plans.
- Familiarity with business integration points, including check in, registration, benefits, referrals, PCP assignment and orders.
- Driven to expand on current healthcare IT knowledge and expertise.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and pragmatic; a great team player who is analytical and solution-focused.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to forge and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Successful candidates will be required to obtain/maintain Epic Certification(s) essential to their job responsibilities.
- Flexibility to work an expanded work schedule, including early mornings, nights and possibly weekends during major implementation and support efforts.
Desired Qualifications
- Epic Prelude and/or Referrals certification(s) strongly preferred.
- 3+ years working in a physician and revenue cycle environment.
- Prior experience implementing, teaching, and supporting users with new applications and/or Epic in an ambulatory or hospital environment is preferred.
- Cross-application integration experience is highly desired.
- Assessment and change management/transformation experience preferred.
