Hiring Range: $46,449 - $51,094
Full Range: $46,449 - $70,326
In addition to the base salary, this full-time position is eligible for an annual performance bonus as well as a longevity bonus.

Description :
This classification is responsible for assisting the Storm water Coordinator conduct field inspections and related follow-up correspondences. Duties and responsibilities include surveying storm drain outfall, conducting municipal facility inspections and training, assisting the Storm water Coordinator / Engineering Technician facilitate outreach and education projects, storm drain outfall surveys, the Stream Cleanout Program, municipal facility inspections and training, and assists the Director on various other assigned projects. Under general supervision, reports to the Director of Public Works.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. - Inspects all assigned construction sites and other facilities in a thorough and accurate manner on an as needed basis.
- Inspects grease receptacles, auto repair and paint and body shops in a thorough and accurate manner, as required.
- Inspects detention basins and other sediment control measures as required.
- Works with contractors and developers to adhere to the NPDES requirements for erosion protection.
- Inspects detention basins and other sediment control measures as required.
- Provides Director and Stormwater Coordinator with a complete and accurate daily report summarizing all achievements.
- Assists with review of as-built drawings of all storm water facilities and roadways for completeness and accuracy of information while maintaining close correspondence with engineer of record for final review.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Conducts behavior in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner at all times.
- Conducts any other duties as assigned by Director.
- Provides coverage in absence of other personnel, including Stormwater Coordinator.
- Continues professional growth through attendance of related outside seminars and workshops.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid Tennessee Drivers License
- One (1) to two (2) years experience in map and construction plans reading preferred.
- Applicant must have or be willing to obtain the Tennessee Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Program Certification within one year of beginning employment.
Applicant must also have one of the following:
- High school diploma or GED supplemented with three (3) years work experience in construction inspection and/or erosion prevention and sediment control as related to land disturbance activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field supplemented with three (3) to six (6) months work experience in construction inspection and/or erosion prevention and sediment control as related to land disturbance activities.
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
