Job description

The Environmental Compliance/Sustainability Manager will oversee the environmental compliance program as well as focus on the company’s sustainability efforts. This includes maintaining compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, PADEP, other regulatory authorities and providing the facility with professional guidance for the effective administration of the company’s environmental and sustainability program.


Environmental/Sustainability Manager Responsibilities:

  • Working with operations to ensure superior environmental compliance and continuous improvement and to support business objectives.
  • Ensure systemic implementation of rigorous root cause analyses, corrective/preventive actions, and sharing of best practices to improve performance and reduce risks.
  • Drive a superior environmental compliance program through leading by example, coaching, mentoring and engaging personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Complete environmental reports (including TRI, Tier II, stormwater DMRs, annual/biennial waste reporting), permit applications, emission inventories and other technical documents.
  • Solid Waste Management (Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste) with ability to review and approve waste profiles.
  • Lead the sustainability environmental data management process, including the data collection system and analysis, as well as collaborating with site personnel and operations to ensure accuracy of the metrics.
  • Identify, prioritize, and implement sustainability related initiatives to reduce overall environmental footprint. Areas of focus include greenhouse gases (GHG), energy use, water use and waste generation.
  • Monitor industry best practices in strategy and resource efficiency coupled with a strong curiosity for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in Carbon Disclosure efforts and Greenhouse Gas reporting.
  • Assist in other Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety projects.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • 6 to 10 years of Environmental management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, engineering (chemical, environmental, sustainability or closely related field) or environmental science.
  • Professional certification (CHMM, QEP, PE, or other professional designation in the field) preferred.
  • Must have the ability to adapt to changing conditions, priorities, and requirements, as well as the need to rapidly learn new skills.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills
