The Sustainability Engagement Manager reports to the VP, Sustainability and supports, drives and enables practical day to day integration, engagement, training, and delivery of Aramark sustainability commitments and initiatives across all lines of business, as dictated by business opportunity and need. This is a program integration and execution-focused role designed to support business growth and retention, and help account-level and operations teams establish, embed, and deliver enterprise commitments, initiatives, solutions and targets.
- Day to day direct and indirect support for requests for proposal, client meetings, client business reviews and client requests for information, program execution and other engagements relating to sustainability program initiatives, plan development, delivery, and partnerships.
- Supporting day to day focused account delivery needs and opportunities as required.
- Building sustainability delivery plans in partnership with Aramark operators and clients.
- Support data management activities, including establishment and integration of LOB and KPIs.
- Leveraging and sharing learnings, best practice, benchmarking, and program successes/challenges across LOBs.
- Support establishment and implementation of tools, plans and support collateral to promote cross-LOB knowledge, training, capabilities, and opportunities focused on delivery and execution and that align and embed Aramark's sustainability goals, commitments and initiatives with client targets, preferences, and expectations.
- Support enterprise strategic initiatives, including materiality refresh, benchmarking, and external stakeholder engagement.
- Support - and ultimately lead - implementation of Sustainability Community of Practice.
- Provide subject matter expertise on sustainability priorities, including waste, climate, and sustainable sourcing issues.
- Conduct benchmarking, policy, and other research for purposes of aligning programs with external developments and expectations.
- Partner closely with other members of the enterprise team to link strategic commitments and targets with business delivery.
- Inspire a culture of sustainability ownership across the business
- Degree in a subject related to sustainability; Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred (business, environment and/or sustainability).
- Significant (3-5 years +) experience working in sustainability team or specialized consultancy.
- Knowledge of and experience with social and environmental matters, including interconnected issues such as responsible/local sourcing; understands business and operations of large food (preferred, but not required) company.
- Experience in collegiate, workplace and/or sports and entertainment operations.
- Inquisitive mind set with strong analytical abilities. Strategic thinker looking outside to bring new approaches to continually improve internal effectiveness.

- Highly analytical, ability to synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multi-stakeholder engagement from vision to implementation.
- Ability to communicate and facilitate dialogue with those holding diverse and opposing views, by finding common ground and identifying opportunities to move forward. Courage and conviction in managing difficult conversations.
